MoMA/Endo/Film

Over the weekend I went back to MoMA hoping to finally catch the stupid Tim Burton exhibit but alas again I was denied! And of course the exhibit is now over so I'll just have to wait for online postings to see what happened..... Oh well, I still went in to check out the rest of the museum which is always nice. A performance artist, Marina Abramovic had a show and it was really interesting. I brought my nephew Justin (thinking we might catch the Burton exhibit) and I didn't realized how much nudity there was at her exhibit! I of course don't care, but he's six years old so yah.... While we're walking through, I had to cover his eyes but the most interesting aspect of the museum was that there were two naked people (could be 2 guys, 2 girls, or mixed) about a feet or two apart and you had to walk between them to get to the next room. Of course this was optional but Justin really wanted to go through so after much thought and contemplating we both went through and enjoyed it and it was fun! How often can you say you were between two naked guys!

Yesterday I had to see my endocrinologist and it sucks as usual but what happened was interesting. This older senior citizen lady also sees my doc. Well when she got off the train, everyone could hear her screaming and yelling. Apparently she has a elevator phobia. When it was my turn to see my doc, she was at my docs door asking question and saying things but when my doc told her she needed to go down to the 3rd floor (I was on the 7th) she started wailing and crying about how scared she is of the elevator! Eventually someone brought her down and I went to see the doc and well that's a whole nother story.

I finally took some pictures with film and I developed it today which turns out I might have a light leak in my camera which sucks! My roll of film had streaks of dark on certain parts so that was not cool! They came out perfectly so it means I can still take pictures! lol I've been so bored and watched so many things ugh I'm a bum and I need to head out to the gym more often............

Good Bye Vacay......

It was my spring break last week and I spent a few days in Philly with my sister then I went to Penn State main campus up in Happy Valley to visit an old friend of mine who I've known for 20 years! Yes a long ass time! It was nice spending time with her and meeting some of her friends like her gay roommate with a just as cute boyfriend and discovering one of her friend is a metal head although she doesn't look it at all and learn the song Sick Bubblegum by Rob Zombie! LOL, really good song!! It was a nice trip since it gave me something to do during my break otherwise I would've just spent all my time at home doing nothing or at my sister's doing nothing. So we basically just chatted and caught up with each others' lives, went to see Clash of the Titans and Ninja Assassin at a friends, sat around a bar watching college kids get wasted, saw a car get saran wrapped and toilet papered and a bunch of other things but those were the most memorable things!

My friend has this dish she makes that her roommate calls "Vomit Pasta." It's not a disgusting dish but the name comes from what it sort of looks like. It basically has EVERYTHING in it. There the pasta, onion, sweet peppers, corn, peas, an assortment of cheese, cream of mushroom/celery/and chicken and a variety of spices. It was def a yummy dish minus the onion and peppers which I hate! While there we did a lot of cooking! Throughout my time there we've had this chicken/mushroom meat ball patty things (which were realllllllly good with Worcestershire sauce,) bruchetta, pasta salad, corn and black bean salad, cucumber salad, hash brown and eggs and toast and thin bagel (they were half the size! and half the calories!) and other stuff. I think I gained weight eating there..... but it was all good and fun!

Since coming back home on Monday night, it was weird not talking to her since that's what we did every night. Esp since this went one for a few days. It was a hard ride getting there but not as bad as coming home!!!!!!!! For the ride there, I took Greyhound and the bus wasn't packed so I had the two seats to myself which is always nice, but on the way there, apparently there was some crackhead there but I didn't really pay much attention to it since I had my headphones on. I overheard some guy mention her and he sad she was kinda bugging out, bugging him and switching seats, had lipstick all over the place and mentioned she stole a bunch of cough syrup or something. I luckily kept away from that and didn't have much to worry about.

On my way home though.....ugh! I didn't take Greyhound but a Chinese bus company which is cheaper and goes straight back to NYC. Well I guess they pick which kind of vehicle to use depending on how many people are on. Since there weren't that many they had a van that seated I guess 15 people or something. It wasn't full all the way but I did have to share my seat and this guy that sat next to me was a big guy! I'm guessing he had to be over six feet. I tend to fall asleep right away which I did and maybe an hour in I woke up and felt him leaning into me. He's a freaking BIG GUY and heavy!!! His legs were also so long that my leg fitted right under his! And he did that, put his leg over my leg. This guy really didn't understand personal space dammit! It was also all hot and humid in the van because there were a bunch of us in there and no windows were open or anything. Eventually the driver turns on the AC every now and then. I was going crazy until we finally made a restroom stop.

I needed to get out and pee and buy a cold drink because it was that warm. When it was time to go back in, I made sure I took up more space so the guy next to me wouldn't be all over me. Well it worked for a while until he kept inching into me and I finally got pissed off and use my laptop bag to kinda keep him away and if he did lean in, he'd get a gut full of corner! It worked but I'd fall in and out of sleep the whole way, it was a five hour trip! Well maybe four and change but that five is including my train ride back home. Anyhoo it was a fun little vacation I took and I got to relax and chill and I kinda wish I had more time to just lull around but it's time to get back to reality and do stupid work..... T_T

Another interesting thing I noticed today was how crazy people are over seats on the trains! I use to think it was mostly the Chinese and I know this cuz I see my kind doing it alllllll the time, but no it's freaking EVERYONE. There was this Indian or middle eastern guy standing and he saw this guy looking like he was going to get up. He goes up to the guy and stands in front of him making sure he'll get the seat, uhh maybe you should let him get up first then you can sit.... It's so bizarre how people act, but I'll admit I do try getting the seat if either I've been standing all day or something or I know I've a long way to go. But I don't purposefully make sure that only I can get a seat!!!

And one more odd tidbit I saw today: this grown woman who was a mommy as well as another one on the way, was sucking on her thumb..... I'm sorry but only babies are allowed to do things like that, not even kids, just babies! First of all, the finger is disgustingly dirty and full of germs unless its in a sterilized thumb bubble....! Which I think could be an interesting invention for weirdos who like to suck on their thumbs! Anyhoo I think its time to wrap up this crazy long post! Have a good one!

Happy Birfday To Me!!

Yay another year has pass; I'm another year older...etc... It's not that great a feeling of aging even though I'm still in my 20's and pretty young. So yesterday was my family's annual visit to the cemetery to pay our respect to our lost family. The day started early as usual but somehow we didn't leave when we were suppose to. We had to make an extra stop because most of my family that we go with is from my mom's side so they go see my mom's dad, while my own family has my dad's dad at a different cemetery which is only maybe five minutes away. So we tend to stop there first and pay our respect then meet up with the rest of my mom's side and pretty much eat and chill there just because one of my uncle is also there and Justin's other grandpa's there. So we do our praying and hell money burning until I find out my mom's sister had a nose bleed that's been going for at least two hours. Her blood just would not stop and it eventually dripped into her mouth and she kept coughing up blood...etc. So we had to cut out the celebrations earlier to drive her to the hospital to see wtf was going on. The cemetery is in upstate New York and we live down in the city and we thought her insurance might not cover her visit to the hospital up there. So my sister drove back to NYC and my aunt ended up going to Beth Israel and I had to go in to translate since she doesn't speak English that well. (joy....) We're hanging out in the ER and eventually the doc comes to check on her. By then the bleeding had stopped and when they looked into her nose, they apparently saw that the speculum I think had been ruptured on the tip where there are a lot of vessels and that's why the crazy nose bleed. They wanted to seal it up by using meds and whatever that stuff called, but eventually they didn't.

Turned out my aunt also had major high blood pressure it was 200+/120 I believe which is consider deadly high. They did and EKG on her and a chest x-ray and turned out there were some sort of irregularities and they wanted her to stay overnight. I was there for three hours waiting. I sat in these uncomfortable chairs and fell asleep. My other aunt finally came by and said we're going to dinner and she'll go by later that night to check on her and that we're all just gonna eat and go home. Dinner was at a Chinese restaurant as usual and it was good and fun hanging with the family. The sad thing about yesterday (beside the nose bleeder) was that not many of my family went to the cemetery! Quite a few moved away and some didn't want to go and it was a small gathering which use to be much bigger. oh well that's family....

So today's my birfday and my sister took me out to dinner with my nephew and she invited this friend of hers just because he was going through some shit. His son is a little mental and he was kinda freaking out and she wanted him to relax a little by asking him, his wife and son out to dinner with us. We had Chinese again..... If it had only been the three of us, we might gone to Olive Garden which I kinda wanted to but meh I don't care cuz I'm not paying for dinner xP!

For some reason I felt really uncomfortable with the mentally unstable kid there. His mom also was being kinda weird as well. I have NO HATE towards people who have problems but I just felt odd with them there. The kid was being loud, demanding stuff, asking if he could have certain things, etc. He's 19 so its not like a child demanding stuff like my nephew so it was odd. I kept my feelings to myself and carried on with the dinner. It was fine I guess.

The food at this particular restaurant was really awful. My fav dish which is the boneless chicken feet with sweet and sour veggie was HORRIBLE! The sauce was bland, the feet tasted funky and the only thing I ate was the sweet and sour veggie. There was a shrimp dish that my sister had had last time she was there which she loved but it tasted like garbage this time so she was pretty disappointed. Turned out the main chef wasn't there and I guess his sous chef took his place in cooking and we could totally tell with the crappy quality of the food. I'm not one to get all upset or anything because it was suppose to have been my bday dinner so it was just nice to go out and eat and not have to do dishes lol!!!!!!!

So the day is almost over and it'll be a new year. I hope things for great for me and life only gets better as we age!

ISFP?

I hate hate hate talking to customer reps because they treat you like you know absolutely nothing. My internet was screwy not too long ago and I do what I normally which is restart my laptop and/or the router. Nothing worked so I was forced to call Verizon and get them to fix my shit. So this guys talking to me like I'm an idiot saying things like:

rep: "Look at the bottom of your screen and look for the little computer and wavy line symbol."
me: "The Network Connection symbol?"
rep: "Yes do you see it?"
me: "Yes."
rep: "What does it say?"
me: "That it's not connected duh that's why I said I can't connect to the internet."

Ok so I didn't say the part after duh but its what I was thinking. And he just goes on treating me like a moron and I keep trying to say thing actual thing. He talked as if I was slow and retarded.... Then I had to ask what the password was to get into the Verizon site because I wanted to change my pw to what I had originally and not the default settings. He tries to help me but I'm like I know what to do since I did it already in the first place. I just wanted to make sure the pw was the same one since it wasn't the default last time. Dammit I know they have to treat us like we don't know what to do since we are calling in for help but I said I knew what I was doing just answer my damn question punk!

So I took this thing about what kind of uh, human you are and it turns out I'm a composer (ISFP). So this is from their site after I took the test.
Composer (ISFP). They are driven by their values and usually have a strong aesthetic sense. If they have a driving force to do good, you may find them in medical or veterinary occupations or in social services or education. If they need to express their artistic talents, they may be a painter, a potter, a jeweler, a fashion designer, a carpenter, or a chef. Some are called to more technical occupations such as surveyor, botanist, or chemist. Still others are in the service industry as wait-people, beauticians, or retail clerks. Some do a variety of clerical services and may be bookkeepers or legal secretaries. Says Lorenzo, "Being a chef is more than making a good meal. The taste, aroma and presentation of the food must be perfect - like creating a great symphony."
Having a life of action and freedom is what makes an Artisan tick and gives them a sense of being alive.
I didn't think I could ever be in the medical field just because I always hated science. I've always been attracted towards the arts though so I guess it's a bit true, I don't know..... But being a chef sounds neat, I just can't cook certain things Lol, this is the rest about me.

I really don't know what the hell is wrong with me lately, because I've been giving myself paper cuts everywhere! One just healed and today I gave myself another one, damn they hurt too!

This morning while I was taking the bus, this odd fella was standing in front of this girl who sat in front of me. Dude soooooooo did not have his junk in the trunk. He must have gotten a hard on for the girl because I could clearly see things I shouldn't be seeing!!! That's not the only thing, this poor girl had to be suffering cuz dude kept leaning into her!!! She's sitting, he's standing; what's sort of eye level!! I remember seeing him before too. A while ago on the bus this girl sat in the front of the bus and he decided to sit in the front as well. Eventually the girl moved to the back and guess who followed. I think we've got a perv on the loose!!!!! Next time I see him, I'm gonna stare him down so he knows I know! And if he does anything else disgusting, I'm gonna elbow the shit outta him! Don't be disrespecting my girlies yo!

Ok gotta write a paper and email prof sometime tonight on Brave New World, fun fun fun..........

Looney Bin

I had something interesting to write about but I kinda forgot.....
*I'm writing this a few hours later after I started that sentence lol, because now I remember*

I'm in my film/lit class and every class we have group discussions and today's group was bizarre because we all started to talk about weird stuff. We've been reading Alice in Wonderland and Looking Through The Looking Glass. For some reason someone started to talk about falling asleep in class and apparently people can fall asleep with their eyes open!!!! I can barely keep my eyes open when I get sleepy so it was really odd to hear for me. I think someone said its a kind of eye paralysis or something along those lines. One of the questions we had to discuss was about the imagination and is it only a kid's thing or do adults do it as well. Well this girl said she's always imaging things everyday and that when she gets home she thinks shes a sex goddess...... We were all like wtf! And there were a few guys in the group who kept saying omg this is gonna be in my head for the whole day now, and another said I think its gonna be in my head for the whole week. I was just like what! She's a pretty outspoken lady who will say anything without worrying about the outcome. Throughout the rest of the discussion there were awkward looks at her from the guys. I was just sitting there silently laughing inside. It's a pretty fun class because we get to just talk after the prof talk about whatever. So the groups will say some interesting weird stuff!

Since I have class at 9:30 which is the history of photography which is interesting in itself but I went to bed late trying to read that stuff. So I was barely paying attention and out of nowhere the prof called me out to say something about a photo and I was like uhhhhhhhhh........... Then she just called on someone else. OMG I need to go to sleep earlier dammit!

Now I need to finish some homework for my figure drawing class.....joy.....

Celeb/Panties/PC/ Smog?

I'm down by Utrect getting my ever emptying wallet of art supplies when I had a celebrity citing! Yes it was exciting! As I'm passing by Forbidden Planet I see in front of me, Heather Graham hailing and getting into a taxi. Ok so it wasn't all that exciting but it tickles me silly when I see a celebrity. I won't go screaming like a maniac towards them because I think that's just stupid and silly. So that's my fourth celebrity citing after: Lucy Liu (she's pretty short), Adam Duritz (he's realllly tall!), and Johnny Depp (who's always just a hot tub of gooey goodness).

On another note, I HATE constantly spending  my money on the never ending need of art supplies!!!!!!!! Such a shame to be spending my precious little cash on that instead of some new sneakers I DESPERATELY need! But I did do some minor shopping over the weekend. There were some awesome deals on undies at American Eagle and Victoria Secret's. So I've gotten twelve new pairs adding to my already massive collection of them. I honestly think I could probably go two month without washing them and still have a bunch leftover. Then again I could never ever ever ever leave them sitting there for that long...... That's just plain sick! Ok this topic is a little TMI soooooooooooooo

I order a new refurbished PC and it was for some reason on back order and I got an email saying that it might take at least two weeks to get more but it doesn't make sense, its a refurbished PC. Does it means they have a parts cemetery and just keep taking them and making PC's to sell??? Meh whatever, but now my order went through and it should be coming soon! Yeeehaw! Now I have to look into buying a new monitor; I'm hoping for a 22" just because I've never had one that big! The biggest one I've ever had was a 15" and even my laptop is 15.4". So bigger is better and will let me have some fun with it! lol!!! Anyone have one that they don't want or need?!?!?!!? Or know of any awesomely cheap deals for a good monitor?????

Anyhoo I need to read some photography junk on family man or something.....

Off With Your Head!

Just saw Alice in 3D and it was really good! I love Johnny Depp, he's so cute xD! I gotta say the dresses were really pretty, esp the ones Alice wore. The red queen was great, gotta say her head amused me lol. I      just loved everyone's character and their quirkiness! Like the fat boys and the piggie kekeke

Freeeeeee

I'm hanging out at a Starbucks down on Broadway and I love the fact that there is free wi-fi! It's awesome being able to use my laptop and/or my touch mainly to play MyTown or waste time while I wait for my nephew to get out of Chinese school. It's been raining the past few days and I just do not feel like getting wet even more, so I here I am!

So I'm sitting at my table minding my own business and this artsy guy switches table which is where the plug is at. He told me he put my plug back in because apparently the guy that was sitting there unplugged it and he called him a jerk and whatnot. Then he said, "You probably know me, director, producer, photography Mark Fisher." Sorry I don't know you Mark Fisher, but from what I saw on your laptop, your work is pretty cool! Then he goes on rambling about Obama, and being unemployed. Lol funny guy with his giant stone rings which I'm kinda jealous of (they really are pretty!!!!) And whenever someone walked by he'd ask them to look at his laptop to looks at his work! lol jeez...

Yesterday and today it's been raining with lotsa wind. Of course I wore the wrong footwear and my sneakers were soaked, ugh, my pants were wet, and my back bag a little wet but luckily its a bit waterproof. Someone needs to make a super umbrella that wont flip inside out when there's wind. My nephew broke one of my fav umbrella because it was too flimsy for the wind! Jeez mother nature, TAKE IT EASY!!!!

Let this weekend begin with me relaxing before another grinding week starts....!!!

Blubbering Idiot

This morning I'm on the bus going to school and it's packed to the brim as usual. I end up standing in front of this girl who is talking on her phone and crying, really loudly. All she kept repeating was "OMG why are you doing this?!?" Over and over and over, she just kept saying that. eventually she switched it up and said things like:

"It's suppose to be about us,"
"It's not all about the money or the ring,"  and finally
"You're selfish and stupid, but I accept you the way you are."

Suffice to say, she was talking to her boyfriend or maybe girlfriend but I'll go with the bf. Sure I was right in front of her and I had my headphones on but I could still hear her. She was realllllly loud. And there were tears and sniffles but my god, the whole bus must have been listening to her. I admit I turned down my volume a bit to hear how it turned out but I got to my destination before it ended. Another funny thing was on my way home she ended up standing in front of me while I sat on the bus! LOL the irony. I tried not the laugh and I honestly didn't. I kept it all inside. I was cracking up on the inside!!!! Basically I was like 'wtf?!?! you need to get a hold of yourself. This isn't the stuff you do in public, it should be done in the comfort of your home!

I went to get my wonderful cheap latte and the guy was slow. I wanted iced latte, but he was gonna give me a hot one. Then I asked for a multi-grain bagel sliced in half (just because I'm too lazy to do it) and he ended up trying to give me a plain one....slow much???

Toodles!

Tooooffy

This morning my nephew comes up to me in my bed after he brushed his teeth with a tooth in his hands. I was barely awake and he kept smiling at me trying to show me his new hole in his mouth. It was a hilarious sight! Now he's got it under his pillow in hopes of some monies!

ARGH!!

Dammit I had an accident...... Not the kind you're thinking of, I think, but my stupid water bottle decides it wants to open.....IN MY BAG! I'm sitting at a computer table and I'm wondering why is there water flowing towards my hand and I looked and saw the dang leakage! Not a good thing, esp when I had my camera in my bag!!!! It's ok though, it still works and everything seems fine. Sure my papers are wet. Sure the papers in my wallet are wet. And sure now my bag is freaking wet! Sigh what a day! Now I'll esp check my bottles to make sure I closed it tightly!

I made a pin hole camera with a regular old box and taking pictures with it is such a pain!!!!!!! They aren't coming out the way I need them to come out with. I tried sitting in one and that was an experience! The body just cannot sit still for at least 10 mins. Well I'll see what happens when I develop it. I mean I had an itch that I tried to ignore but eventually I had to get that itch....a few times..... lol It'll be interesting to see what shows or not.

Until next time!

Sad/Happy Moi

I've been rereading Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. Jeez straight from the beginning I'm teary and bubbly because there are so many deaths of poor innocents! I won't spoil for anyone but dammit WHY JK Rowling!!!! Why must you kill off so many beloved characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a somewhat happier note I got an Iced Caramel Latte  from Dunkin Donut for only 99 cents, well $1.08 after taxes but I feel so good when I get a good deal! Whether it be food, clothes, ANYTHING; a good deal always puts me in a goooooood mood!

And isn't this the most awesomest cake ever!!!!!!! I just saw it this weekend at the MoMA. I was hoping to catch the Tim Burton exhibit but they ran out of the timed tickets for it so instead we just took in the rest of the museum. The exhibit is there til April so I hope at least once, I can catch it!!!
